About Me

Hi there!

My name is FabiĆ«nne and I’m eighteen years old. Currently, I am a first-year Law student, and I’m finishing my last two high school subjects (physics and math) at the same time. I couldn’t finish them all in one go because of some personal circumstances. Next year I also want to start studying criminology.

I’ve always lived with a certain sense of dissatisfaction. I don’t want to come across as ungrateful, because I’m grateful for so many things (!), but I guess I could say that I’ve never truly been ‘happy’. I know that’s an odd, and maybe stupid thing to say for an eighteen-year-old, but after a few years of constant struggle, I decided I didn’t want to live that way anymore. I knew there was more to life than what I was experiencing, so I needed to start doing something about it.

After I found out about the concept of minimalism, mainly because of The Minimalists, I was hooked (you can read more about my journey to minimalism here). I knew immediately that I wanted to keep track of my process. I absolutely LOVE writing, and I’ve had a blog before. I just didn’t know how to deal with the negative comments (even though there were a lot of positive ones as well), became insecure and decided to quit. I thought about waiting with a new blog until I lived the minimalism lifestyle for a longer period of time and was ‘ready’ to share my experience, but then the following question struck me:

Why not now?

Why wait with starting a blog if I love writing? Because I’m too insecure? Because I think I’m too inexperienced? When I heard myself going through those points in my head, I decided I wasn’t going to give it a lot more thought and bought a domain name the same day. Besides the fact that I love writing, I created minimalismadventures because I am deeply inspired by the concepts of minimalism and personal development, and have an extreme passion for travel and learning.

This blog is part of my process to a new, better life. I am no professional expert, and I am still learning every day, but I can say with confidence that my journey to minimalism and the life I want in general, has made me feel better and more satisfied than I’ve felt in a very, very long time. I can’t wait to continue this journey!
